Old Corvette Stingray Still a Chart Topper

2013 Hot Wheels Edition CamaroWhile the 2014 Corvette Stingray has taken the sports car world by storm, one other Stingray is also topping the charts. In a recent post by http://complexrides.com, they list the “50 Best Hot Wheels of All Time”.  While Chevy recently revitalized the Stingray name, the 1976 Hot Wheels Version of the Stingray is still making a name for itself.

The 1976 Corvette Stingray Hot Wheel car is one of the most popular Hot Wheels ever made according to Chris Yuscavage who put together the list. He ranks the ’76 Stingray as 5th best Hot Wheel of all time.

“You can’t go wrong with a classic, which is why Hot Wheels has recreated this Chevy over and over (and over!) again over the last four decades,” Yuscavage writes in the Stingray caption.

Chevrolet and Mattel have had a strong relationship over the years. Aside from the chart topping miniature Chevrolets Mattel creates, Chevy has come up with a couple Hot Wheels-inspired life-size cars, too. The most recent being the 2013 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels Edition (pictured above) which can still be ordered at select Chevy dealers like Hutch Chevrolet.
