Few large companies have mastered social media like Chevrolet. They are often on top of every new innovation and change in the social media world. In one of their latest campaigns, Chevrolet has embraced some changes on Facebook, in the process helping their fans adjust to the new changes as well.
Historically, a person could merely ‘like’ a post on Facebook. Recently, Facebook dramatically expanded the ways that we ‘react’ to posts. Now, our choices are: Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad and Angry.
When you think about it, this expansion is brilliant as it eliminates that odd situation you could previously find yourself in where you wanted to support a friend after they posted something tragic but ‘Liking’ the post seemed inappropriate.
Chevrolet is doing their part to help their fans find the ‘Love’ button. In a brand new ad showing a litany of heart-jerking and knee-slapping clips, we are finally shown the new 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. “Chevrolet looked out into a sea of ‘likes’ and thought the time was right to love.” We are then shown the spectrum of new Facebook buttons from Facebook.
Thanks Chevrolet for keeping us hip to changes in social media!
