We love the 2015 Encore and cannot wait to see the 2016 Buck Encore Sport Touring!

The 2016 Buick Encore is sure to carry on the Encore’s legacy as the brand’s most popular, best-selling model, and the announcement of a new trim is more evidence to that end.

Buick announced the 2016 Encore Sport Touring, adding an all-new 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that provides 11% more horsepower and 20% more torque than the Encore’s standard engine, creating a more responsive and powerful ride that is sure to excite small-crossover shoppers.

Standard stop/start technology also makes the Encore Sport Touring’s engine more efficient, and a steel crankshaft, aluminum cylinder block, and variable-flow oiling system add extra miles per gallon.

“Encore is a driving force behind Buick’s expansion and a catalyst for introducing a new generation of customers to the brand,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president of Buick, in an official statement. “The all-new Encore Sport Touring broadens that base, giving customers more choices—along with more performance, more technology and more efficiency.”

The 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring will come standard with the Convenience package, which includes 120-volt power outlet, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, and safety features including Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Side Blind Zone Alert. Available features include all-wheel drive, Bose® audio system, navigation, and a moonroof.

The 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring will be available this fall. To learn when you can pick up yours at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY, stop on in!

Buick Encore Takes a Bow after Outperforming First-Year Expectations

Buick Encore Exceeds 2013 Sales ExpectationsNo one quite knew what to expect out of the Buick Encore, the brand’s small but luxurious crossover. But after completing its first full year of sales, it’s safe to say no one expected the new vehicle to sell quite this well. The Encore sold a total of 97,311 units globally, with 31,046 of those crossovers going to U.S. buyers alone.

These numbers seem gargantuan in comparison to even the highest of expectations—Automotive News, for example, predicted a global sales maximum of just 18,500 Encores for 2013. “Right out of the gate, demand for the Encore was high,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing. “It accounted for most of the segment’s growth last year and that’s because it offers the right safety, technology, and features in the right-sized vehicle for many customers.”

Here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC, we’re not surprised at all by the Encore’s success. The powertrain mates a six-speed automatic transmission with a 1.4L Inline four-cylinder engine for an output of 138 horsepower. This impressive amount of power goes along with an EPA-estimated 33 mpg highway to make the Buick Encore a very desirable option in the small crossover segment, indeed. As Buick designers and executives take a bow for their 2013 success, here’s hoping for an “Encore” 2014 performance!

The 2014 Buick Encore: Made for Black Friday Shopping

2014 Buick EncoreBlack Friday can be summed up in one word: madness. Whether you masochistically enjoy the craziness of people rushing to score the best deals of the year or you can’t understand why anyone would willingly subject themselves to such torture, you will want to be armed with our tips on safely navigating the masses before you leave the house the day after Thanksgiving… and you’ll probably want to be driving the 2014 Buick Encore.

Beware in the parking lot and navigate carefully. With shoppers racing to find open spots, accidents are more common than we would like.  As such, it’s important to have a vehicle that makes its presence known and enables you to avoid such mishaps more easily.

Edmunds.com senior analyst, Michelle Kreb, advised, “Compact cars and SUVs, such as the Buick Encore… are agile and easier to park. The Encore’s petite dimensions pay dividends when it’s time to squeeze into undersized parking spaces.”

Keep gifts covered in the trunk. Unfortunately, shoppers aren’t the only ones out to find good deals on Black Friday. Keeping your purchases in the trunk or covered in the back seat will make your vehicle a less tempting target for thieves.

But how will you store Ashley’s dollhouse, Dad’s flat-screen TV and little Jake’s tricycle if you drive a small crossover? The 2014 Buick Encore’s seats fold offering 48.4 cubic feet of storage for all your purchases.

Avoid distractions. In all the hub-bub of the day, a split-second distraction can cause an accident. Use hands-free technologies to keep both hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

The 2014 Encore is equipped with Buick IntelliLink, providing hands-free access to your smartphone.

Starting to realize you should purchase your 2014 Buick Encore before Thanksgiving? We agree. Come Black Friday, you’ll be thankful you did.

Happy Thanksgiving and happy shopping from your friends at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC!
