What Does Your Car Color Say About You

what your car color says about youI’m sure we’ve all heard the question; what does your car color say about you? Some think that there is nothing to it, while others think it hold true. I suppose you could compare it to astrology in that sense.

Well, luckily, much like astrology it is still fun to read about even if you don’t believe a word of it! So we’ve put together a list of some of the more common car colors to see what they say about their owners.

Black – Powerful and classic. Black is considered a power color, so drivers of black cars are people who are not easily manipulated.

White – Pure and direct. White care owners people who tend to like things more pure and more direct; furthermore drivers of white cars are thought to be harder to please.  Maybe it’s because their cars show any spec of dirt?

Silver – Prestigious and elegant. Drivers of silver cars are believed to appreciate elegance, but with a bit of a flash.

Red – Outgoing and high energy. Those who prefer a red car are thought to be more outgoing and more high energy; they are also believe to like to call attention to themselves. It’s thought the brighter the red the more prominent the characteristics are while the deeper the red the more subtle.

Grey – Neutral and practical. Owners of grey cars are thought to be rather straight-forward. Furthermore, they are believed to also be more practical and organized; they make lists, talk things through, etc.

Light Blue – Calm and faithful. Expect drivers of light blue cars to keep their calm when the going gets tough; and since they are faithful, don’t expect them to bail during those times either!

Dark Blue – Confident and credible. Drivers of dark blue cars are thought to be confident. That makes sense, as they are credible as well. It’s easier to be confident when you’re telling the truth.

Was your car on the list, or do you know someone who drives a car on the list? If so, let us know at Hutch Chevrolet how accurate these are when you think about the drivers!

Chevy SS rolls off assembly lines in Australia

2014 Chevy SSGeneral Motors expects to have their 2014 Chevrolet SS sports sedan on the market by year’s end, and excitement is brewing as a result of reports that production has begun in Australia on the Holden assembly line. Motoring.com.au, has reported that this week marked the beginning of SS production but had no comment regarding whether or not shipment to the U.S. has commenced.

The Holden website article regarding the new Chevy SS also discusses the car’s production capacity. While GM made preliminary plans to manufacture between 10,000-15,000 sedans per year, Holden managing director Mike Devereux’s response expressed a more open-ended standpoint. “We will build as many as they want,” reported Devereux. “And I think Americans are going to love that car.”

With a spacious interior, rear wheel drive, and small block V8 engine configuration to match its racetrack counterpart, we think Devereux is absolutely right. What’s not to love about zero to 60 in five seconds flat?

Chevy Certified Service Saving the Day at Woodward

Chevy Certified Service Rescue SilveradoFor the second year in a row Chevrolet is doing its part to help make sure that the cars of the Woodward festival are in good hands in case any trouble may arise with a Chevy Certified Service Rescue Squad. The squad will consist of ASE Certified Technicians in 2014 Chevy Silverado pickups. There will also be two Chevrolet Certified Service locations that enthusiasts can go to if they need assistance.

“It’s called the ‘The Dream Cruise’, but an overheated engine, a drained battery, or a flat tire can turn that dream into a nightmare for enthusiasts whose countdown clock to Woodward starts the day it ends,” said Steve Walczak, Chevrolet Certified Service marketing manager. “No one wants to breakdown or cause ‘The Dream Traffic Jam,’ so Chevrolet Certified Service technicians will be assisting cruisers with minor issues that can be easily remedied.”

The Chevy Certified Service Rescue Squad was on hand last year as well, and have offered the following tips to those who plan on making their way to Woodward this weekend:

  • Battery – make sure the battery is charged, the terminals are clean and check for wear or aging of the alternator belt and distributor cap.
  • Fluids – check fluid levels to make sure the vehicle is ready to operate for several hours and have extra to top it off when necessary.
  • Gas – fill it up and top it off before embarking on the journey. A sticky or faulty gas gage can leave you stranded on the side of the road.
  • Tires – check the tire pressure and condition especially if it’s a vehicle driven only a few times a year.
  • Blades – make sure the windshield wipers are in good operating condition in the event of rain.

Hutch Chevrolet hopes that everyone participating in the Woodward festival has a safe and trouble free day, but just in case we’re glad Chevrolet is there to help out.

Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon to Return

2015 Chevy Colorado GMC Canyon PreviewWhen Chevrolet and GMC didn’t release a new model in 2013 for the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon it left many wondering if they too had decided to back out of the mid-sized pickup market.

Well, luckily GM has finally come through and given us light at the end of the tunnel with a teaser of what is to come. While we aren’t quite sure exactly when GM will be revealing the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon we don’t expect it to be too far into the future.

Production of the forthcoming Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon is scheduled to start in 2014. Hutch Chevrolet is very glad that the Colorado and Canyon will be making a triumphant return in 2015 and can’t wait for the duo to grace our showroom floors!

New Chevrolet Hybrid in the Works?

Hutch Chevrolet has heard that there have been sightings in Michigan of a modified Chevrolet Orlando mule for quite a while now. Well, now it is being reported to be touting along the hybrid technology that we may very well see in the next Chevrolet hybrids.

How do we know this? There have been spy photographers trying to get closer and closer to try and get sneak peek at what this modified Chevy Orlando may be hiding. What they found was a hybrid based system. Well, that plus a plethora of testing equipment.

Chevy Volt MPV5Could this be a mule for the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 that debuted at the 2010 Beijing Motor Show? It’s possible, but it also just as possible that this could be something totally different and maybe even entirely new.

With the L.A. Auto Show coming up in November, maybe we’ll get an idea on what they’re working on.
