Fifth generation Camaro sales hit 500,000.

The fifth generation Camaro, now in its final model year, is getting ready to race into the record books with the sale of its 500,000th model.

Hitting the market in August of 2009 as a 2010 model, it did not take long for the fifth generation Camaro sales to surpass the Ford Mustang and become the best-selling performance car in the U.S. five years in a row.

The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, which has helped increase sales by 7%, comes in a wide range of models including the 323-hp V6 LS/LT coupe or convertible; the 426-hp, V8 Camaro SS coupe or convertible; the 580-hp, supercharged Camaro ZL1 coupe or convertible, and the Camaro Z/28 – that comes ready for the track.

“The fifth-generation Camaro has clearly resonated with both long-time Camaro fans, and first time performance-car buyers,” Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager, said in a release. “That sets the bar high for the next chapter of the car’s history,” which will be the sixth-gen Camaro set to arrive in May.

We cannot wait for the 2016 Chevy Spark debut!

Exciting fans around the world, Chevy recently announced that the new 2016 Spark will debut on April 2nd in Seoul and New York. This new minicar is specially engineered with eco-friendly design in mind, providing owners with a new level of performance and fuel economy.

According to Chevy, the Spark has sold over 1.1 million units around the world, and is most popular with people under the age of 35. The Chevy Spark debut is set to reveal the 2016 model’s sleeker, more aerodynamic profile, aggressive design overhauls, and classic Chevy quality.

“The new Spark’s design has evolved and grown up with the segment,” said Michael Simcoe, GM International vice president of Design. “The youthful whimsy of the original Spark is still in its genes, but it is conveyed in more traditional proportions that reinforce the customer’s refined expectations.”

All Chevy has released about the new model is a silhouetted profile, which is still noticeably different than the previous generation. Although there are no specs available, the new model is bound to be one of the most fuel-efficient models available.

2015 Malibu tops the J.D. Vehicle Dependability Study.

Chevrolet has just experienced its best performance yet in the 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, the industry’s benchmark study for determining vehicle reliability.

Three of the automakers’ vehicles were ranked highest in their segments: the Malibu (Midsize Car), the Camaro (Midsize Sporty Car), and Silverado HD (Large Heavy Duty Pickup). The Tahoe (Large SUV) and Silverado 1500 (Large Light Duty Pickup) also took second, and the Suburban (Large SUV) took third, in each of their respective segments.

In addition, Chevrolet was ranked among the top 10 of all evaluated brands for average dependability across the lineup, with approximately 24 less problems per 100 vehicles compared to the industry average.

“Chevrolet is committed to offering customers a complete lineup of vehicles that deliver great performance, design, and technology, and do it with great value,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Sales and Service. “Vehicle dependability is a large part of that value, and this prestigious award recognizes our ongoing efforts to further enhance value for our customers.”

In other words, if you believe value and reliability to be among the chief qualities a vehicle should have, you’d probably be well-off with almost any of the models we offer here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY.

2016 Chevrolet Volt Improvements

Owner feedback is inspiring 2016 Chevrolet Volt improvements.

When Chevrolet’s engineers began designing and building the next generation Volt, they didn’t just default to the improvements they thought were necessary. Instead, they took into account years of input from the people that actually drive the car day after day –current Volt owners.

After the launch of the very first Volt, Chevy began to host meetings with a customer advisory board of 12 loyal Volt owners from across the country in an effort to better understand how consumers interact with their Volts daily. Additionally, the automaker communicated with Volt owners through events, social media, and internet panels.

“We began asking simple questions like how and when the owners plugged in their Volt, which directly impacted the development of the next generation,” said Darin Gesse, Volt product manager.

The input from those monthly meetings and online interactions have directly impacted the design of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Chevy hopes that by understanding the needs of the drivers themselves, the newest Volt will be more streamlined and comfortable, and offer more intuitive and convenient features.

Some of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt improvements include an extended EV range and improved fuel economy when the gas engine does kick in, a fifth seat, and a more intuitive, easy-to-use infotainment system.

Additionally, Volt buyers can expect a quieter engine at lower speeds, a heated steering wheel, LED headlights, customization of vehicle information display, discrete charging notifications, charge door open reminder, locations-based charging selection, illuminated charge port, and a spare tire.

Here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY, we can’t wait to get our hands on the new and improved Volt later this year!
