2016 Spark Reveal in NY Shows Off New Look

We cannot wait for the 2016 Spark!

We cannot wait for the 2016 Spark!

Chevrolet finally revealed the redesigned 2016 Spark at the New York International Auto show earlier this month, after weeks of speculation. The debut brought with it an updated list of Spark facts and tech specs.

The 2016 Spark has a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces a solid 98 horsepower, which is a significant improvement over the model’s predecessor. Plus, you can choose between a five-speed manual transmission or a continuous variable transmission, the second option achieving a 40-mpg highway rate.

Of course, the 2016 Spark also has a more modern look, with edgier styling in mind. The newest model still has that cute feel, but stark lines, sloped windows, and cut angles keep the Spark from seeming too cartoony.

What did you think of the 2016 Spark reveal? Let us know what you think about Chevy’s latest, which you can check out in this photo gallery, in the comments.

New Hybrid Malibu Joins Chevy’s Electric Lineup

We cannot wait to go for a ride in the new hybrid Malibu.

We cannot wait to go for a ride in the new hybrid Malibu.

Chevrolet’s electric lineup is filling out quite nicely. There was first the Chevrolet Volt, which just received an overhaul for the 2016 year. It’ll have a longer range as well as greater acceleration, among other improvements.

Then we heard about the Chevrolet Bolt concept, an electric crossover that was heading to production almost as quickly as it hit the auto show circuit.

Now it may not rhyme with Volt or Bolt but the brand new Chevrolet Malibu is also joining Chevy’s exciting electric lineup. The sedan will be available as a hybrid when it comes out this year. The Detroit Free Press reports that the new hybrid Malibu will “use the same technology as the new Volt for fuel efficiency.”

This technology will help the Malibu achieve 45 mpg. Those kind of numbers make the new hybrid Malibu “one of the most fuel-efficient mid-size sedans” in the market. In addition to the hybrid option, every model will be both bigger and lighter this time around.

All-New Malibu Debuts with Chevy’s Teen Driver Safety Technology

Teen Driver keeps your teen safe on the road.

Teen Driver keeps your teen safe on the road.

As the redesigned 2016 Malibu debuted at the New York Auto Show this month, so did Chevy’s new technology, Teen Driver. The system is an advanced safety technology designed to support parents in encouraging their teen drivers to practice safe driving habits.

The technology provides warnings, both audible and visual, that alert the driver when he has exceeded predetermined speeds. In addition, Teen Driver mutes the radio and the audio of any other device paired to the vehicle’s entertainment system when the driver and front passenger are not wearing seat belts.

The built-in automotive system is the only one in the industry to provide parents with a display detailing the driving record of their teens. Data, including maximum speed reached, distance driven, and the number of times active safety features were employed during the trip, are part of the report parents receive.

“We developed this system so parents could use it as a teaching tool with their kids — they can discuss and reinforce safe driving habits,” said MaryAnn Beebe, safety engineer for General Motors. “As a mother of two, I know anything that has the potential of keeping one’s family safer is of great value to parents.”

Chevy’s new tech feature is standard on the Malibu’s Premier trim and available for LT models equipped with the Convenience Package and up-level radio.

We at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC are excited to see the results of Teen Driver.

Fifth generation Camaro sales hit 500,000.

The fifth generation Camaro, now in its final model year, is getting ready to race into the record books with the sale of its 500,000th model.

Hitting the market in August of 2009 as a 2010 model, it did not take long for the fifth generation Camaro sales to surpass the Ford Mustang and become the best-selling performance car in the U.S. five years in a row.

The 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, which has helped increase sales by 7%, comes in a wide range of models including the 323-hp V6 LS/LT coupe or convertible; the 426-hp, V8 Camaro SS coupe or convertible; the 580-hp, supercharged Camaro ZL1 coupe or convertible, and the Camaro Z/28 – that comes ready for the track.

“The fifth-generation Camaro has clearly resonated with both long-time Camaro fans, and first time performance-car buyers,” Todd Christensen, Camaro marketing manager, said in a release. “That sets the bar high for the next chapter of the car’s history,” which will be the sixth-gen Camaro set to arrive in May.

Be sure to come visit us at Hutch Chevrolet to make this brawny fifth generation Camaro, and soon the sixth-gen, part of your lineup today.

We cannot wait for the 2016 Chevy Spark debut!

Exciting fans around the world, Chevy recently announced that the new 2016 Spark will debut on April 2nd in Seoul and New York. This new minicar is specially engineered with eco-friendly design in mind, providing owners with a new level of performance and fuel economy.

According to Chevy, the Spark has sold over 1.1 million units around the world, and is most popular with people under the age of 35. The Chevy Spark debut is set to reveal the 2016 model’s sleeker, more aerodynamic profile, aggressive design overhauls, and classic Chevy quality.

“The new Spark’s design has evolved and grown up with the segment,” said Michael Simcoe, GM International vice president of Design. “The youthful whimsy of the original Spark is still in its genes, but it is conveyed in more traditional proportions that reinforce the customer’s refined expectations.”

All Chevy has released about the new model is a silhouetted profile, which is still noticeably different than the previous generation. Although there are no specs available, the new model is bound to be one of the most fuel-efficient models available.

Three Chevrolet Vehicles Top 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

2015 Malibu tops the J.D. Vehicle Dependability Study.

Chevrolet has just experienced its best performance yet in the 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, the industry’s benchmark study for determining vehicle reliability.

Three of the automakers’ vehicles were ranked highest in their segments: the Malibu (Midsize Car), the Camaro (Midsize Sporty Car), and Silverado HD (Large Heavy Duty Pickup). The Tahoe (Large SUV) and Silverado 1500 (Large Light Duty Pickup) also took second, and the Suburban (Large SUV) took third, in each of their respective segments.

In addition, Chevrolet was ranked among the top 10 of all evaluated brands for average dependability across the lineup, with approximately 24 less problems per 100 vehicles compared to the industry average.

“Chevrolet is committed to offering customers a complete lineup of vehicles that deliver great performance, design, and technology, and do it with great value,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Sales and Service. “Vehicle dependability is a large part of that value, and this prestigious award recognizes our ongoing efforts to further enhance value for our customers.”

In other words, if you believe value and reliability to be among the chief qualities a vehicle should have, you’d probably be well-off with almost any of the models we offer here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY.

2016 Chevrolet Volt Improvements

Owner feedback is inspiring 2016 Chevrolet Volt improvements.

When Chevrolet’s engineers began designing and building the next generation Volt, they didn’t just default to the improvements they thought were necessary. Instead, they took into account years of input from the people that actually drive the car day after day –current Volt owners.

After the launch of the very first Volt, Chevy began to host meetings with a customer advisory board of 12 loyal Volt owners from across the country in an effort to better understand how consumers interact with their Volts daily. Additionally, the automaker communicated with Volt owners through events, social media, and internet panels.

“We began asking simple questions like how and when the owners plugged in their Volt, which directly impacted the development of the next generation,” said Darin Gesse, Volt product manager.

The input from those monthly meetings and online interactions have directly impacted the design of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. Chevy hopes that by understanding the needs of the drivers themselves, the newest Volt will be more streamlined and comfortable, and offer more intuitive and convenient features.

Some of the 2016 Chevrolet Volt improvements include an extended EV range and improved fuel economy when the gas engine does kick in, a fifth seat, and a more intuitive, easy-to-use infotainment system.

Additionally, Volt buyers can expect a quieter engine at lower speeds, a heated steering wheel, LED headlights, customization of vehicle information display, discrete charging notifications, charge door open reminder, locations-based charging selection, illuminated charge port, and a spare tire.

Here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY, we can’t wait to get our hands on the new and improved Volt later this year!

General Motors gave automotive fans exactly what they wanted at the Chicago Auto Show.

The company teased a photo of the newly designed 2016 Chevrolet Equinox before the show to pique our curiosity. This marks the first time since 2010 that the Equinox has gotten a touch up.

Built in three North American plants, the Chevrolet Equinox was the third most popular selling vehicle for the brand.

The Chevrolet Equinox at The Chicago Auto Show showed off the vehicle’s brand new front fascia. A new headlight design takes up the center of the image. New fog lights and LED daytime running lights are also on display. A contoured bodyline, unseen on previous Equinox designs, runs below the new headlights.
