Chevy dealerships nationwide are poised to receive their first shipments of shiny, new 2014 C7 Corvette Stingrays over the next couple of weeks. Shipping has begun for dealership inventories and fulfillment of customer orders out of Chevrolet’s Bowling Green, KY facility this week!
According to Autoblog, Chevy has produced 1,000 of the highly-anticipated Corvette Stingrays, all ready for shipment. Released earlier this year, the 2014 C7 is the fastest, most muscle-bound, and fuel efficient Corvette, ever. Chevy’s latest two-door coupe houses a refined LT1 V8 engine delivering 460 horsepower and allowing for an EPA-estimated 29 miles per gallon highway.
The new Stingray’s marriage of power and design is described perfectly by Corvette Design Director, Tom Peters, who claims, “it’s a beautiful weapon,” according to the Chevy website.
With its ultra-sleek and sophisticated exterior, crazy-luxurious and modern interior, and countless design aspects geared toward optimizing the driver’s overall experience, we’re excited for the C7 Corvette Stingray to start making appearances on the road!
Chevrolet enthusiasts have waited with baited breath for decades and devoured every bit of imagery and information to have been revealed about the upcoming 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, which will kick off the Corvette’s C7 generation. To commemorate the new generation, as well as the 60th anniversary of the Corvette, Chevrolet has unveiled the Corvette Stingray Coupe Premiere Edition.
The Premiere Edition, which is limited to only 500 models, will all be 3LT models with the same Laguna Blue exterior and Brownstone suede interior. Available upgrades for collectors include suede and carbon fiber interior trim, visible carbon fiber roof, hood stripe, wheel caps and kickplates bearing the Stringray namesake.
Oh, and luggage. Your Corvette Premiere Edition, powerful, sleek, and seductive, will come with matching Stingray luggage. Because why not? No word as to whether or not Chevrolet intends to offer an upgrade that includes a Stingray kitchen sink.
Chevrolet has not released a price point yet, though it is expected that the limited Premiere Edition could start around $70k. While the 2014 Corvette Stingray has taken the sports car world by storm, one other Stingray is also topping the charts. In a recent post by http://complexrides.com, they list the “50 Best Hot Wheels of All Time”. While Chevy recently revitalized the Stingray name, the 1976 Hot Wheels Version of the Stingray is still making a name for itself.
The 1976 Corvette Stingray Hot Wheel car is one of the most popular Hot Wheels ever made according to Chris Yuscavage who put together the list. He ranks the ’76 Stingray as 5th best Hot Wheel of all time.
“You can’t go wrong with a classic, which is why Hot Wheels has recreated this Chevy over and over (and over!) again over the last four decades,” Yuscavage writes in the Stingray caption.
Chevrolet and Mattel have had a strong relationship over the years. Aside from the chart topping miniature Chevrolets Mattel creates, Chevy has come up with a couple Hot Wheels-inspired life-size cars, too. The most recent being the 2013 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels Edition (pictured above) which can still be ordered at select Chevy dealers like Hutch Chevrolet.
