Chevrolet is inviting everyone to share a holiday message on Facebook and Twitter to help brighten people’s days while giving back to their communities through United Way.
For every share and retweet of Chevrolet’s Facebook post and Tweet of the video, the automaker will donate $1 to United Way, up to a total of $500,000.
United Way is a charity dedicated to improving communities and individual lives through education, financial stability, and basic needs like food and shelter.
“The holiday season is a time for thankfulness and a time to help those less fortunate,” said Paul Edwards, US vice president, Chevrolet Marketing. “We hope social media users will take a moment to share the spirit of giving with their friends and family while helping United Way.”
Chevrolet, General Motors, and the GM Foundation have a history of helping United Way and other organizations through various events—most recently, Chevy contributed $1 million to the American Cancer Society on behalf of the 1+ million social media users who changed their profiles to purple in time for World Cancer Day on February 4th.
