Chevy Traverse Named Best Family Car for 2014Parents magazine and Edmunds.com have just released their “10 Best Family Cars” list for 2014 and, for the second straight year, the Chevrolet Traverse is one of the specially selected vehicles to make the cut. The Traverse excels in several defining categories of major importance to families including safety, value, efficiency, and convenience, making it a shoo-in on any Best Family Car list.

“Traverse’s winning combination blends the capability and roominess of a traditional SUV with the attributes of a crossover, including a car-like driving experience, low step-in height and good efficiency on the highway,” said Steve Majoros, a marketing director for Chevrolet. In fact, the Traverse boasts a pretty large engine—a 3.6L V6 with 288 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque—yet still retains a 24 mpg rating on the highway… pretty impressive numbers.

The Traverse is loaded with family-friendly safety features and technology as well. It’s the only vehicle in the large SUV segment with a front seat center air bag, plus it offers technologies like forward collision alert and lane departure warnings to keep the whole family safe inside. Not only will you and your precious cargo be safe, but you’ll all be comfortable as well—the Traverse seats up to eight people with ease and even features a rear-seat entertainment system to ensure a smooth ride!

While full-size sedans are often referred to as “family cars,” for many families, sedans, no matter how elegant and comfortable they might be, are simply not big and strong enough. Enter the two-time Best Family Car champion, the Chevy Traverse: it’s got the power, the space, the safety, and even the fun factor to handle any family no matter its shape, size, or style!

So come see us today at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC for a chance to take the Traverse out for a little test—it’ll be your favorite travel companion in no time.

Chevy Suburban and Tahoe Outselling Expectations

Chevy Suburban and Tahoe Reign Supreme in SUV SegmentNo brand has ever dominated a segment the way that Chevrolet continues to dominate the competition when it comes to SUVs. In fact, the Bow Tie brand actually invented the segment with the original Suburban back in 1935, and Chevy’s never relinquished control of its own creation. Even now, in the middle of 2014, Chevy’s two full-size SUVs continue to govern the SUV segment. Sales of both the Chevy Suburban and Tahoe are booming to such a degree that production is having a hard time keeping up, easily outstripping expectations for both vehicles.

“Chevrolet’s all-new Suburban and Tahoe offer improved quality, advanced technology and increased fuel efficiency, yet they retain their impressive towing capabilities,” Karl Brauer, senior analyst for Kelley Blue Book, said, explaining the sales numbers for the SUVs. Both vehicles saw sales increases of more than 100% over April 2013, helping Chevy confidently claim basically half of the segment market.

Chevrolet executives are excited about the two vehicles too. “The Tahoe and Suburban are the leading vehicles in the segment, and some of the best Chevrolet has ever built,” Brian Sweeney, Chevy’s U.S. vice president, said. “The demand for these refined, functional, and technology-driven models is proof that consumers agree, as well.”
