Full-Size Chevy Traverse Won’t Get Downsized Like the GMC Acadia

What do you think is in store for the full-size Chevy Traverse?

What do you think is in store for the full-size Chevy Traverse?

The Chevrolet Traverse shares a platform with its cousins from GMC and Buick, the Acadia and the Enclave. However, after GMC unveiled the new 2017 model of the Acadia at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this past January, the crossover had shed 700 lbs and been downsized to the mid-size segment. This caused many insiders to question whether or not the full-size Chevy Traverse would get the same treatment.

While nothing has been confirmed, General Motors mentioned that the weight loss was necessary in order to provide consumers with a crossover option with more fuel efficiency. However, when questioned about whether the change would extend to the Acadia’s relatives, product chief Mark Reuss said, “The brand separation in size and mission and the positioning of these vehicles has never been more differentiated.”

Most people have chosen to interpret Reuss’s words as indicating the full-size Chevy Traverse and its cousin, the Buick Enclave, will remain in their full-size segments for the upcoming generation. Both the Acadia and the Traverse broke sales records in the previous model year and have gained class-leading popularity in the competitive crossover segment. Silverado Realtree Edition Going into Production

Are you ready to catch a glimpse of the Silverado Realtree Edition?

Are you ready to catch a glimpse of the Silverado Realtree Edition?

Recently, Chevrolet has begun unveiling one-by-one a series of limited edition Silverado trucks. Using the popular pickup nameplate as a base, the company has released experimental trucks bearing names like “Rally Edition” and “Custom Sport.” The Silverado Realtree Edition is the latest of these concept-like vehicles to get the green light for production, and is the result of a collaboration between Chevrolet and camouflage clothing source Realtree.

The Realtree Edition is clearly aimed at drivers with a taste for the great outdoors. Based on the Silverado 1500 LTZ equipped with a Z71 package, the Silverado Realtree Edition is built for off-roading capability. However, the truck shirks the expected full-camouflage body paint, instead opting for an all-black look with small patches of camouflage on the hood, tailgate, and front doors. Notable features include underbody protection, monotube Rancho shocks, and 20-inch wheels.

The Silverado Realtree Edition will be released around the same time as the Special Ops that debuted at SEMA and was confirmed for production shortly after. However, people into outdoor recreation may be more attracted to the collaboration with Realtree, especially since it launches in the springtime — right at the beginning of hunting season.  Learn more at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paitnsville, KY!

Chevy Volt Improvements Make a Great Car Even Better

New Chevy Volt improvements are making this car better than ever before!

New Chevy Volt improvements are making this car better than ever before!

The Chevrolet Volt keeps getting better and better. Since its arrival in 2011, many improvements have been made which make the car a better vehicle for a better value. The 2016 Volt is the best one yet. The overall design is improved, as well as the technology.

Shad Balch, a spokesperson for Chevrolet says that “everything about the new Volt is better than the Volt it replaces.” The Volt has a great history, so how did the brand make the best even better?

First, and perhaps most importantly, the range of the vehicle has increased. The estimated driving range was 38 miles, but is now 53. In addition, the gas engine now runs on regular gas instead of premium.

Seating capacity has increased to five people, one more person than the previous model. The interior has become roomier, and the exterior has become more mainstream and trendy. There is even a hatchback design which has increased the cargo capacity.

Technology has also improved. Now, drivers have a “hold” mode which allows the driver to save the battery power for later usage.

With all these Chevy Volt improvements, it is surprising to hear that the price has actually decreased! The Volt is a money saver in both short-term and long-term capacities.  Learn more at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY!

Have you been anxiously waiting for the 2016 Chevy Camaro release?

After months of slowly leaking the details and pictures of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, it is finally here. The much-anticipated vehicle is about to hit dealerships all across the country for commercial purchase.

The first three completed Camaro models—a white one, red one, and blue one—recently rolled off of the line at the GM’s Lansing plant ceremoniously, to welcome the beginning of the Camaro’s trip to dealerships. Considering the amount of awards given to the 2015 model, it’s safe to say that the 2016 version will be something special, especially since it is already on the short list for the 2016 North American Car of the Year award.

“The sixth generation is a new ball game,” said Scott Whybrew, GM’s North American manufacturing manage. “Our goal is to put the Mustang in our rear view mirror every day.”

The 2016 Camaro reportedly will sport better fuel efficiency than its predecessor, while it will also be more powerful overall. Make sure you keep an eye out for the 2016 Chevy Camaro, which is set to arrive on dealerships later this month. Learn more at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY!

You will be proud to have the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu in front of your house!

The Chevrolet Malibu is the most popular mid-size car on the road today—and it’s about to become even more popular. Chevrolet recently announced the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu pricing and it makes it easier than ever before to fall in love with this practical sedan. With a starting price of $22,500, the Malibu is the perfect price for any consumer’s budget. The Malibu is about to become even more popular starting later this year.

“The 2016 Malibu is engineered and priced to give customers impressive value and technology that’s hard to compete with,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet cars and crossovers, in the press release.

That humble asking price makes the new Malibu more affordable than competitive models like the Camry, Accord, Fusion, or Altima. The Malibu also beats out the competition thanks to its incredible features. It will have plenty of new technologies like Front Pedestrian Braking and Low Speed Front Automatic Braking, making the Malibu even more appealing.

What will really get drivers excited for the new Malibu is the integration of the hybrid technology behind the Chevrolet Volt. This will allow for the Malibu to reach an estimated 48 mpg in the city!

Lost 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Found in Barn

We love all Corvette Stingrays but can you imagine finding a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in a barn?

We love all Corvette Stingrays but can you imagine finding a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in a barn?

When you lose something, you get that stony feeling in your gut, like someone’s just punched you and took off. Usually you get that for moderately valuable things, like car keys, a cell phone, your laptop charger. Now, imagine you lost a priceless, classic American car!

This is exactly what happened to one unfortunate owner of a 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Found in a barn, where it had been since 2008, this classic Stingray was found and put up for auction, along with several pieces of old farm equipment. Luckily, Tony Back read about the car by chance in a newspaper and decided he wanted the wonderful—and rare—barn find.

When the Stingray moved on to a local auction, Back won it with an $11,600 bid. With the base 350 engine and what Back estimates to be 95% of the original paint, this is an automotive find for the ages.

Back, alongside his father and fellow Corvette-enthusiast, runs a body shop in Means, Kentucky. It almost seems the car was fated to be found by Back.

Can you imagine buying a ’72 Stingray with its original paint, dirty but undamaged, for less than $12,000? Can you even imagine finding something so valuable in a barn?

Maybe a month ago, Back would have also answered no.  We here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY would be thrilled with that find!

All-New 2016 Cruze Gains Features, Loses Weight

You will not want to leave your all-new 2016 Cruze parked for long!

You will not want to leave your all-new 2016 Cruze parked for long!

Chevrolet has introduced the all-new 2016 Cruze, which is shaping up to be a big improvement over the existing yet already impressive model.

The upcoming Cruze will be both larger and lighter, allowing for more interior room and increased efficiency. It will also come with a whole new suite of sophisticated technology, such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and active safety systems that help everyone stay safe.

Under the hood, the 2016 Cruze will pack a new, standard 1.4-liter turbocharged engine with direct injection that produces 153 horsepower. GM estimates that the sedan will do about 40 mpg on the highway, partly thanks to stop/start technology and partly because of the weight-saving measures that have helped the Cruze trim about 250 pounds.

“It seems that Chevy has gotten the package right, with some of the best materials to be found in a compact car, plenty of space and a dramatically improved multimedia experience,” said Cars.com.

The car semms to be a huge step forward, and we cannot wait to have you test drive yours at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY!

All-New 2016 Camaro Convertible Roof Lowers at 30 MPH

New just imagine this as the all-new 2016 Camaro convertible with the top down!

New just imagine this as the all-new 2016 Camaro convertible with the top down!

Hutch Chevrolet is happy to announce that the all-new 2016 Camaro Convertible will soon be in our showrooms, which will further refine the Camaro driving experience for all you drop-top lovers out there.

Compared to the regular 2016 Camaro, this model is entirely the same from the waist down. Above the beltline, however, is an all-new, fully automatic canvas roof that can be raised and lowered at impressive speeds up to 30 miles per hour.

Our favorite feature is that it can be remotely opened with the key fob. That means we can leave behind the days of stepping into the car, pressing a button to lower the top, and only then being able to get going. With the 2016 Camaro Convertible, all you needs to do is press the button on the key fob while walking to the car and watch as the top neatly folds away by the time you get into the vehicle. No fuss, no wait!
