Chevy Malibu Nabs Top Safety Pick+ Rating for 2014

2014 Chevy Malibu Earns Top Safety Pick+ Rating from IIHSMaybe Chevrolet should completely redesign the Malibu more often. Although, now that it’s this good—this great, really—we at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC are hoping it sticks around for a good long while. Not only is the sedan fully redesigned for efficiency, comfort, and performance, it now boasts a stellar and impeccable safety record as well. The Malibu has been named a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS for 2014, earning the highest possible honor from the authoritative institution.

To earn the distinction, the 2014 Malibu had to receive “Good” ratings on at least four out of five crash tests, while earning no less than an “Acceptable” rating on the fifth. This proved all too easy for the Malibu, which took “Good” ratings all across the board. Plus, to receive the “+” part of the rating, the Malibu received a “Basic” rating on its Forward Collision Alert system.

“We are very pleased that the IIHS has recognized the safety of the Malibu with this prestigious rating,” said Gay Kent, general director of GM Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness. “Customer safety is our guiding compass; this serves as a testament to that.”

If you take a look at your internal compass right now, you’ll probably see that it’s guiding you to us here at Hutch, where we’ll set you up for a test drive in the super cool, super safe, 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.
