Are you ready for yet another big Chevrolet reveal? 2013 has proved to be a big year for General Motors with the unveiling of the 2014 Silverado, 2014 Corvette Stingray, 2014 SS, and now the 2014 Camaro.
The Camaro rounds of the trio of new performance cars Chevy will offer next year. It joins its two powerful brothers, the Corvette Stingray and the Chevy SS.
Chevrolet has kept mum on the exact specs on the refreshed 2014 Camaro but experts say the new muscle car will house a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6. Models with this type of engine currently produce 355 horsepower.
While experts and enthusiasts continue to speculate, the 2014 Chevy Camaro will make its debut at the New York Auto Show next week. The International Auto Show in New York starts on March 29 and the cars will stick around the Big Apple until April 7.

This weekend kicks off the NASCAR season and Chevrolet headed back to its roots for a special debut. The double-car debut features the 2014 Chevrolet SS performance sedan racing alongside the SS racecar, Chevrolet’s entry into the NASCAR Spring Cup series.
The 2014 SS will house the LS3 V8 engine pulling 415 horsepower and 415 lb-ft. of torque. It is a perfect mix between the Chevy Camaro, the Caprice Patrol Car, and Chevrolet’s subsidiary brand Holden’s VF Commodore.
The rear-wheel drive performance sedan is nostalgia central for the Chevrolet brand. It’s been close to twenty years since they’ve released anything similar to the new SS.
“The Chevrolet brand was largely built on the strength of rear-drive performance sedans, yet it’s been 17 years since we’ve offered one,” says Mark Reuss, GM North America President. Reuss notes the SS is well worth the wait and sufficiently embodies Chevrolet’s rich history.
Chevrolet is already reliving history at this year’s Daytona 500, who else do you think will make history on Sunday?
The all-new 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 was revealed this past Thursday, and saying we’re impressed is an understatement.
First of all, the 2014 Sierra is the most powerful truck ever offered in GMC’s history. Consumers will have a choice of a 4.3L V6, a 5.3L V8 and a 6.2L V8 EcoTec3 engine. This not only translates to some incredibly impressive hauling capability, but also great fuel economy. One of the great aspects of the EcoTec3 engine is that it features Active Fuel Management technology, which means that it seamlessly switches to run on four cylinders during light-load driving to save you fuel.
The interior of the 2014 Sierra is one of the most luxurious-feeling we’ve ever encountered in a truck. Use of premium materials and attention to detail surround you, and the instrument panel even features a 4.2-inch Driver Information Center with radio, navigation, and even information regarding your truck’s status.
We couldn’t be more excited to feature the 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 in our showroom in the near future.
As we think of the most stylish cars we know of, the Malibu jumps to the top of the list. Even fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi thinks so.
“I don’t design cars, but I know great design when I see it and that’s how my newest collection was born,” said Mizrahi, referring to the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.
The 2013 Malibu really is brains and beauty in an all-in-one package. Not only is it beautifully designed, with refined surface materials such as chrome, woodgrain and metallic accents, but with an EPA-estimated 37 MPG on the highway in the Malibu Eco, it’s one of the smartest cars you’ll ever drive. The brains originate from the fuel-efficient drive in the available 7-inch diagonal touch-screen. This screen includes a Power Flow display that indicates which mode eAssist is in as well as Pandora and Stitcher internet radio.
If you’re interested in experiencing the 2013 Malibu for yourself, stop by our dealership in Paintsville, KY!
The 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV was introduced to the world last Tuesday, and we immediately felt a buzz in the air when it happened. To date, Chevrolet accounts for over 50 percent of all EV sales in the United States, and the technology behind the Spark really piggy-backs off of what we’ve already seen in the Volt by taking what already works and improving it.
First off, the 2014 Spark EV is expected to have the best range of any car currently in the EV segment. Plus, its motor and drive unit are expected to deliver best-in-class acceleration.
“When you engineer a technology-filled, all-electric mini car that goes from zero-to-60 mpg in less than eight seconds, customers won’t miss the gas,” said Mark Reuss, the president of GM North America.
Also, the 2014 Spark EV will be equipped with two seven-inch, high-resolution LCD screens for displaying on-the-fly vehicle updates and infotainment. Our favorite feature, though, is the DC Fast Charging capability. With this, your Spark is able to be charged to 80 percent capacity within 20 minutes. That means no more waiting over night for a charge!
Although initial markets for the Spark are mainly in the Western United States, we hope it won’t be long for the Spark EV to reach Kentucky!
How important is it to have specific types of tires on your car? According to a recent study performed by GM and a few independent researchers, the type of tires you have on your car is very important.
According to their study, having an optimized tire design can increase your mpg by up to seven percent! That can be anywhere from three to five mpg on some of today’s cars, and that really adds up over time. This is exactly why GM is performing research on the tires they use, looking at aspects such as tread pattern, construction, material quality and processing techniques.
The testing and research is being performed at the National Tire Research Center, which officially opened last month.
“This facility’s equipment…can test tires in the full range of the performance spectrum,” said Frank Della Pia, executive director for the tire research center. “It can test tires in the full range of the performance spectrum. This facility has no peer in the world.”
Equipping your Buick, Chevrolet or GMC vehicle with the right tires can mean all the difference when it comes to the safety and performance of your vehicle. Use our Tire Finder Tool to find the right tire for your vehicle.
Five years is like a life time when it comes to technology. Think about it: between the years 2007 and 2012, smart phones were developed, LED lighting was perfected, we gained “cloud” computing and social media hit its stride with Facebook. Who knows where technology will take cars in the next five years?
GM is taking a guess where they’ll be, and that is focusing on electric vehicles, or “EVs.” GM even says that they are prepared to have 500,000 electric vehicles on the road by 2017. That’s a bold statement. Don’t get us wrong, we love the Volt, but even those wonder cars are closer to having 20,000 units sold so far this year than 100,000.
Of course, though, GM isn’t claiming they’ll have half a million fully-electric vehicles like the Volt on the road by 2017. They’re including vehicles that have systems like eAssist as well. Even so, there are bound to be several more fully-electric vehicles on the road by 2017 (hopefully the Cadillac ELR concept car is one of them), and we’re excited to see where GM will fit into the future’s “EV world.”
Is it an SUV, or is it a truck? Think of the 2013 Chevrolet Suburban as a sort of hybrid of the two; it has the space of a Tahoe (it’s 20 inches longer, in fact), yet has the power of a Silverado.
The Suburban’s passenger space is quite nice. This comes from the fact that it is home to three very spacious rows of seating, thanks to the Suburban being one of the widest and longest SUVs on the market. Even for those without a large family, removing the second and third rows provides the driver with 137.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the first row.
The Suburban’s space is not the only substantial aspect of this large SUV. On 2500 models of the Suburban, its 6.0-liter V-6 is capable of producing 352 horsepower. Even the 1500 offers incredible strength under the hood with its 5.3-liter V-8 capable of producing 320 horsepower.

The record for the fastest vehicle towing a trailer is 141.998 mph. The only reason we know this is because the guys from Diesel Power just broke the previous record of 139.11 mph, and they did it using a souped-up GMC 2500 HD. This truck had over 1,000 horsepower and was set up with a two-stage nitrous. The main focus was on the engine and getting it up to 1,000 horsepower; little was done in the way of reducing wind resistance.
Of course, they recommend in normal circumstances never towing past the recommended speed limit, and not past 55 mph when you can help it.
Although we can’t guarantee that the 2013 GMC 2500HDs at our dealership will be capable of this feat without quite a bit of tweaking, we still recommend that you come check one of them out or take one for a test drive! We’re happy to answer any questions you might have.
The 2013 GMC Terrain is a fantastic SUV that’s full of space, storage, comfort and even power. We’re proud to say that we carry this luxurious SUV at our dealership in Paintsville, KY.
First of all, we think it’s pretty incredible that GMC was able to upgrade the V6 to a 3.6 V6 (over the previous 3.0 V6), yet keep the fuel economy the same (17 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway). This means you’re getting a more powerful vehicle without sacrificing a thing.
Next, we’d like to talk about some special features of the Terrain. You get a standard 7-inch color touchscreen display and you can enhance the audio system with the IntelliLink system, which uses Bluetooth streaming audio to integrate apps such as Pandora radio from your smartphone into the system.
If you’re in the market for a new SUV, this is one that you shouldn’t pass up. Please stop by our dealership and take this beautiful SUV for a testdrive.
