New Hybrid Malibu Joins Chevy’s Electric Lineup

We cannot wait to go for a ride in the new hybrid Malibu.

We cannot wait to go for a ride in the new hybrid Malibu.

Chevrolet’s electric lineup is filling out quite nicely. There was first the Chevrolet Volt, which just received an overhaul for the 2016 year. It’ll have a longer range as well as greater acceleration, among other improvements.

Then we heard about the Chevrolet Bolt concept, an electric crossover that was heading to production almost as quickly as it hit the auto show circuit.

Now it may not rhyme with Volt or Bolt but the brand new Chevrolet Malibu is also joining Chevy’s exciting electric lineup. The sedan will be available as a hybrid when it comes out this year. The Detroit Free Press reports that the new hybrid Malibu will “use the same technology as the new Volt for fuel efficiency.”

This technology will help the Malibu achieve 45 mpg. Those kind of numbers make the new hybrid Malibu “one of the most fuel-efficient mid-size sedans” in the market. In addition to the hybrid option, every model will be both bigger and lighter this time around.

Three Chevrolet Vehicles Top 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

2015 Malibu tops the J.D. Vehicle Dependability Study.

Chevrolet has just experienced its best performance yet in the 2015 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, the industry’s benchmark study for determining vehicle reliability.

Three of the automakers’ vehicles were ranked highest in their segments: the Malibu (Midsize Car), the Camaro (Midsize Sporty Car), and Silverado HD (Large Heavy Duty Pickup). The Tahoe (Large SUV) and Silverado 1500 (Large Light Duty Pickup) also took second, and the Suburban (Large SUV) took third, in each of their respective segments.

In addition, Chevrolet was ranked among the top 10 of all evaluated brands for average dependability across the lineup, with approximately 24 less problems per 100 vehicles compared to the industry average.

“Chevrolet is committed to offering customers a complete lineup of vehicles that deliver great performance, design, and technology, and do it with great value,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Sales and Service. “Vehicle dependability is a large part of that value, and this prestigious award recognizes our ongoing efforts to further enhance value for our customers.”

In other words, if you believe value and reliability to be among the chief qualities a vehicle should have, you’d probably be well-off with almost any of the models we offer here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY.

The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu: Engineered for Proficiency, Style and Performance

2013 Chevrolet Malibu - Hutch Chevrolet

As we think of the most stylish cars we know of, the Malibu jumps to the top of the list.  Even fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi thinks so.

“I don’t design cars, but I know great design when I see it and that’s how my newest collection was born,” said Mizrahi, referring to the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu.

The 2013 Malibu really is brains and beauty in an all-in-one package.  Not only is it beautifully designed, with refined surface materials such as chrome, woodgrain and metallic accents, but with an EPA-estimated 37 MPG on the highway in the Malibu Eco, it’s one of the smartest cars you’ll ever drive.  The brains originate from the fuel-efficient drive in the available 7-inch diagonal touch-screen.  This screen includes a Power Flow display that indicates which mode eAssist is in as well as Pandora and Stitcher internet radio.

Edmunds.com recently featured an article describing which 2012 models are the best to pick up as they become discontinued or their newly redesigned counterparts begin to hit showroom floors.  Their list is comprised of great deals for bargain hunters because the cars on the list will soon be discounted, incentivized and often even carry rebates.  Out of 13 vehicles on the list, three of them are Chevys and one is made by GMC.

The first of these vehicles is the 2012 Chevrolet Impala.  This is because the 2014 model year Impala is set to debut in early 2013.  This new Impala is going to be completely redesigned

The second is the 2012 Chevrolet Malibu, because the 2013 version of the Malibu is beginning to arrive.

Third we have the 2012 GMC Acadia.  Even after the 2013 model is released, the 2012 model year will still be considered one of the most solid choices in the SUV category.

Finally, they shed a little spot light on the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse.  This SUV has got a lot to offer buyers, from its spacious cabin to its great fuel economy.
