Now More Power Found in the Camaro ZL1

The Camaro ZL1 is more powerful than ever before.

The Camaro ZL1 is more powerful than ever before.

An even more powerful Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s was displayed at the New York International Auto Show.

There is now a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 transmission under the hood that produces 640 horsepower. This is 60 horsepower more than the 2016 Camaro ZL1. The Camaro ZL1 is now in more direct competition with other muscle cars such as the Dodge Challenger and Charger.

GM’s executive vice president of global product development, Mark Reuss, states that  “The Camaro ZL1 is designed to excel at everything…It will compare well to any sports coupe, at any price and in any setting.”

Not only will it compare and excel, but it was even referred to as a “monster” at the New York Auto Show!

The new Camaro ZL1 truly performs even better than the outgoing model thanks to more horsepower and increased aerodynamic structure. The lower grille opening now allows a greater airflow, and there is an added large front splitter, rear spoiler, and wide front fenders to help improve speed stability.

In addition, there is now a carbon-fiber insert and heat extractor under the hood. These features assist in keeping the engine compartment cooler. There is also an open bowtie insignia on the upper grille as a new design element.

We at Hutch Chevy Buick GMC of Paintsville, KY love all the extra ‘muscle’ added to the ZL1. This is one vehicle you will definitely want to test drive!

GMC Receives Wide Variety of Awards at NYIAS

2014 Acadia Earned one of Many GMC Awards at NYIASAt auto shows, it’s usually the manufacturers who are giving things out to industry experts and enthusiasts—releasing new information, unveiling exciting concept vehicles, and even displaying new production models. However, this year at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS), it’s the experts who are giving back to the manufacturers—especially GMC. The auto giant received three different awards at NYIAS in the Big Apple on April 16, each of them from different and authoritative voices in the auto industry.

The GMC brand itself was named “Most Refined Brand” in the 2014 Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards. As for specific vehicles, the 2015 GMC Canyon earned the distinction of AutoTrader.com’s 2014 Must Test Drive vehicle, while the 2014 Acadia was named “2014 Most Popular among Large Crossover SUVs” by Edmunds.com.

“Recognition from respected third-party organizations validates our momentum with customers, and we look forward to building on that success at GMC,” said Duncan Aldred, U.S. vice president of Buick and GMC.

Aldred was on hand in NYC to accept each of the awards. Experts at KBB said that the improvements to the Denali trims of GMC’s full-size pickups and SUVs specifically helped the brand earn the rank of “Most Refined Brand.” We’ve got a variety of Denali trims in stock here at Hutch Chevrolet Buick GMC, so come see us today to check out those or any other vehicles in our award-winning lineup!
